We've been doing this method since the 90s, and with rel=me, machines can readily ‘verify’ our accounts (and yet they don't).</p><p>It's understandable if they don't have a website. But, there is still other ways. If they are not techie to use <a href="https://c.im/tags/Keyoxide" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Keyoxide</span></a> and <a href="https://c.im/tags/OpenPGP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenPGP</span></a>, then there is <a href="https://c.im/tags/Keybase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Keybase</span></a>. If they don't want to use any, the idea is being able to establish a chain or <a href="https://c.im/tags/WebOfTrust" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WebOfTrust</span></a> of sorts.</p><p>Absolutely zero cost, other than the effort and time spent.</p>
