This is particularly evident in the case of Carlota <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Lucum%C3%AD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Lucumí</a>, who heroically defended herself against her oppressors with a machete in her hand and is still considered a revolutionary <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/symbol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#symbol</a> of Cuba today. Long before the Cuban Revolution, the so-called <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Triunvirato" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Triunvirato</a> <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Revolution" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Revolution</a> shaped the history of the island, during which numerous <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/slaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#slaves</a> rose up against their owners. It was a large movement that took hold of several plantations.
