so did i get this right:?
the main thingy is mastodon
the protocols are open
there is more (like friendica, diaspora, ...?)
my instances server fetches all that stuff from all the other instances (over time)?
so can mastodon users see my screaming into the void (i understand @endless screaming now)?
or can i just see their posts and interact with them, as my instance crawls anything available?
are there cutoffs / limits / if not shown after timeout never seen?
is there a way to get back to the post i tried to comment on which disapeas after i am finished typing (as coming from facebook i alsways type in an external editor, then paste, not to provide biometric typing data)...
aaand: i create my bubble over time by using #tags? or by the tags defined in my profile? or both? or is there anyhow some kind of algorithm filtering and selecting what to show (feels mind blowingly open but somehow lonely the same time)?
do i need followers or friends for it "to be like at ..."?
will somepwny even read or answer this?

How to be a good Fedizen:

1. CW to hide things people may not want to see. This is considerate.

2. #tags allow for discovery for those who may want to see content. Helpful for those who may not follow you but are interested. They will also help people who filter those same tags for reasons.

3. Avoid deliberately misspelling things so that they don’t bypass people’s filters. i.e., don’t use asterisks or jokey nicknames for offensive people or topics.

@jakob @bea Kommt letzten Endes darauf an was die Leuet wollen und suchen.

D* ist "einfacher" hat wesentlich weniger Einstellungsoptionen, nach allem was mensch so hört und sieht ist heutzutage eine Option, die Wahl zu haben, negativ und schlecht. So zumindest stellt sich die Diskussion dar wenn es darum geht das mensch sich für einen Server entscheiden muss, oder gar ob nun diaspora, friendica, mastodon, misskey, pleroma, etc pp.

Ich pflege grundsätzliche verschieden Optionen zu testen, würde dir in diesem Sinne auch empfehlen einen mastodon account anzulegen, eventuell einen Instanz suchen die kein 500 Zeichen Limit hat, wenn dir "micro-blogging" nicht so liegt. Letzten Endes hast du so gerade am Start mehr Input und Zugriff auf Kontakte in unserer dezentralen Welt. Friendica hat den Vorteil das es dir Themen in den Stream spült weil deine Kontakte mit ihnen interagieren, tut D* nicht.
Und #tags folgen ist sehr sehr empfehlenswert.

@SheDrivesMobility Nun, vielleicht macht die Person was falsch. Ich finde hier zu jeden Thema, was mich interessiert, interessante Diskussionen und Gesprächspartner. Dazu kommt noch:

* Dezentrale Organisation
* Unkommerziell, keine Werbung
* Die Möglichkeit, #Tags folgen zu können
* Kein Zwangsalgorithmus
* Und man kann Tippfehler nachträglich korrigieren.

Meiner Meinung nach macht das hier im Fediverse auch keinen Sinn.

Es ist viel besser die jeweiligen #Tags wie #Elektronik #Arduino etc zu Abonnieren.

Ich schreib ja ncht nur über #Elektronik.

Ellenlange TLs mit anderen Themen rauben ja einem nur die Zeit.

Das ist es ja, ich bin keiner mit dedizierten Interesse

Ich gucke & suche ständig nach #Tags die ich nicht abonniert habe.
Sonst würde ich ja in meiner Blase versauern

Aber ich mache das wann ICH Zeit & Lust dazu habe

Das ist auch so ein Punkt was ich bei vielen nicht verstanden habe

Viele SocialMedia Nutzer Arbeiten & bekommen ständig Anordnungen was sie machen sollen

Und im Privaten Leben lassen die sich noch von anderen sagen was sie lesen & tun sollen

Ich lese nur das was mir wichtig ist.

Mit einer TL voll von #StarterPacks müsste ich wieder viel Zeit investieren.

Apple‘s Notes.app supports #tags. That’s good and useful. Unless you share something into the Notes app through the share sheet. Then the tag isn’t a tag but just text. And you have to fix it by hand. That is bad and useless. Grr.
